To that end, we create homes that are Energy Star® compliant with the rigid standards set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Energy Star® homes save an average of 30% on heating and cooling costs, as well as reduce the impact of energy use on the environment. These homes feature tighter construction and ductwork, high efficiency water heaters and air conditioners, compact fluorescent light bulbs throughout the home, advanced low-E windows, and higher air filtration levels.
Wyndham GreenTM takes energy efficient and living comfort to an even higher level, with the incorporation of roof overhangs designed to prevent water seepage around doors and windows, while maximizing the cooling effect of shade in the summer. Sealed natural gas fireplaces use outside air for combustion, minimizing heat loss up the chimney. Engineered trusses and wall panels use wood more efficiently, reducing lumber waste. Roofing, wall sheathing and sub-flooring are built with environmentally friendly Oriented Strand Board manufactured from fast-growing trees to enable forest sustainability and no waste while maintaining superior structural integrity. Other energy and comfort enhancing advantages are integrated into state-of-the-art ventilation, insulation and materials.
